The bike arrived in a very timely manner and was in good condition. I was a bike mechanic in a former life so the assembly was super easy. The bike looked good (green) and was what I expected from the components of the rest of the description online. After I had it assembled and adjusted I found two things that were an issue, the first that while the seat post height was supposed to be long enough to go from someone 5’3” to 6’7”. I’m 6’1” with a fairly long inseam and the seat post was easily 2-3” too short. I ordered an aftermarket one online to fit for about $35. The second thing after riding it a bit was that the rear suspension is way way too stiff. The shock barely moves and although I only weigh 160#, this shock is for someone really big like 250 big. I would not hesitate to say that for someone lighter than myself, the shock would not even move. The shock actually says adjustable by turning barrel on a sticker on it but it did not appear to be such and when I contacted Aipas, they indeed said it was not. The only other negative was my bike was supposed to come with a thumb throttle option which was absent.
So after a week of riding it mostly on PAS 3 or 4, with pedaling I can go the average speed limit where I live which is 25mph. I’ve hit 34 on a downhill and the bike was stable although the inexpensive front shocks have little damping (but are adjustable) lead to some rebound clunking which is to be expected. I did 20 miles the other day with some decent hills in scattered on my route and a section where I went into PAS 5 mode to stay ahead of traffic that was moving about 30. No problems keeping up at all and I still had at least half the battery power left on the indicator.
Overall for the price even with the limitations, this is a good deal at least so far after only a handful of rides. I would suggest that for many the rear suspension is not worth it in its added weight and frame complexity. So far I’m super happy as I am in a tight budget and am back to using a car less again.
